Context/Issue Driven experiences
These experiences are responsive to a current need/challenge. Although the students will learn standards/content within the experience, the focus is on an actual challenge that needs a tangible solution. For example, in response to Hurricane Katrina, a class used the DT process to consider “How might we support children that are displaced from their schools during the clean-up efforts to continue learning?”
Del Mar Hills students partner with Mitchell International for a special design thinking challenge addressing car safety after an accident.
